Financial Assistance Programs

570-621-4141

Patients who do not have medical insurance, need financial assistance, or need more information, may call our financial counselors at 570-621-4141. We will assist patients in applying for Medical Assistance and the Children's Health Insurance Program. If you do not qualify for these programs, you may qualify for our Community Care Program.

Community Care Program

The Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in accordance with its mission to care for the poor and to respond to the healthcare needs of its community, offers assistance with payment for medically necessary, non-elective, hospital services (both inpatient and outpatient) for patients who are uninsured or under-insured through the Community Care program. Uninsured or under-insured patients who wish to participate in our Community Care Program must complete these steps:

  • Speak to our financial counselor regarding the criteria necessary to apply for Medical Assistance.
  • Our financial counselor is located in the Hospital Business Office. This office is open Monday - Friday 8:00 am. - 4:30 pm, or call 621-4141.
  • Applicants must provide proof of income. This can be accomplished by providing a copy of the patient's last W-2, tax return, last two pay stubs, or bank statement reflecting the most recent two deposits. Eligibility will be based on household income and family size.

Please note that Good Samaritan's Community Care Program applies to the hospital component of a patient's medical bills, and does not apply to any bills from a physician's office.
