~Good Samaritan Auxiliary Takes Annual Crabfest in New Direction~

Well-known end-of-summer party

will be alcohol-free

Pottsville (July 10, 2008) -- The Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center Auxiliary will hold its annual Crabfest and Picnic on Friday, August 22, at Christy Joy Catering, Bullshead Road, Pottsville, from 6:00 - 10:00 pm.  This alcohol-free event will be an evening full of fun, food and dancing.

The menu will include “All You Can Eat” steamed hard-shell crabs and shrimp, pulled pork barbeque, barbequed chicken, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and bean soup.  Beverages will include Coca-Cola and Guers products.  Please note that no beer will be served and BYOB is not permitted.

Live music will be provided by DJ RC, the well-known morning radio show host on T-102 FM in Pottsville.  Besides dancing, party-goers can enjoy playing volleyball, horseshoes and bocce. 

“Good Samaritan Auxiliary wanted to take Crabfest in a new direction and make it an event that offers fun and fellowship for everyone,” said Jackie McGovern, Auxiliary Board Member and Crabfest Chairperson.  We want to show that people can come together for a great time without alcohol being served.  If you enjoy eating crabs and having a good time, Crabfest is for you!”

Cost of the tickets is $30 for adults and $12 for students 18 years old and under. Tickets for Crabfest can be purchased at the following establishments in Pottsville: Good Samaritan Gift Shop; Adelphia Seafood; Anthracite Abstract Company; Murphy Jewelers; Bob Weaver Chevrolet; Jerry’s Northeast Auto Sales; Christy Joy Catering; and Hadesty’s Ace Hardware & Rentals.
