High-Definition MRI
Good Samaritan Medical Mall

Pottsville

Good Samaritan offers high-definition MRI accredited by the American College of Radiology. This MRI uses highly detailed pictures of anatomy and pathology to help physicians evaluate a wide range of conditions, including stroke, musculoskeletal, and vascular disease. High-definition MRI allows for better image clarity and quality and faster scans than traditional MRIs. In fact, high-definition MRI can be performed in half the time of the standard MRI in many cases.
In addition to faster studies and better image quality, Good Samaritan is now able to offer its patients advanced capabilities and entirely new applications that are only available with high-definition MRI, such as:
- Brain imaging with uncompromised image quality, despite patient motion.
- Functional imaging to identify brain activity following a stroke.
- Evaluation of diabetic patients for low blood flow to the lower legs – ability to capture high-resolution detail all the way down into the critical vessels of the foot.
- Extremely high-resolution images in the abdomen, for liver exams with shorter breath holds and better organ coverage than previously possible.
- Examine both breasts in a single exam with high-resolution, high sensitivity results. Good Samaritan is the only facility is Schuylkill County to offer breast MRI.
