Computerized Tomography or CT Scan
570-621-4200
Computerized Tomography or CT Scan enables a physician to visualize detailed and accurate cross-sectional anatomy of the entire body. An oral and/or intravenous contrast dye may be used before and during the scan to help highlight the area being examined like the head, chest, abdomen or spine. During the scan, a thin x-ray beam is focused on a specific part of the body and then a computer analyzes the information and constructs an image on a video monitor. The images produced allow our radiologists to detect abnormalities that are not seen on conventional x-rays.
