Good Samaritan offers interventional radiology services to a variety of patients.  Using radiologic images to guide their procedures, interventional radiologists insert thin tubes (catheters) and other tiny instruments through the blood vessels and other pathways of the body to perform procedures that were once done through traditional surgery. Among these advanced procedures is balloon angioplasty and stent placement to open clogged arteries, internal tissue sampling by needle and treatments for blood clots and uterine fibroids. And with these new procedures, general anesthesia is seldom needed. Remarkably, most incisions are tiny and require no stitches. Risk, pain, and recovery time are usually significantly reduced. In most cases, the patient can go home the same day.
