Who are Good Samaritan Volunteers?

Good Samaritan Volunteers are men and women of all ages, from teenagers to senior citizens. They are:

  • Professionals with extra time who want to broaden their horizons
  • Retired persons who still have a great deal to give and want to remain active
  • Students interested in pursuing careers in health or human services
  • Homemakers planning to return to the workforce

Good Samaritan Volunteers have one thing in common — they are all individuals giving their time and talent for others.

How Can You Help

Good Samaritan Volunteers provide assistance in nearly every department in the Medical Center. Some of the areas include Lobby Information Desk, Patient Care Areas, Ancillary Departments and the Gift Shop.

What We Ask of You

Your service and dedication to helping others is important to us.When you become a volunteer, we ask you to:

  • Give at least four hours of your time per week
  • Be dependable in honoring your commitments to patients and staff
  • Be discreet with respect to confidential manners

Hours and Training

Junior Volunteers (13-18 years of age) have the opportunity to select from designated hours and areas. Adult Volunteer schedules are flexible. The Volunteer Director will discuss all the possibilities where you will be best suited and most interested in volunteering. All Volunteers attend an orientation session and are trained according to their assignment.
